Hello,
Last week. Still hasn't really hit me yet.

Well this week we had a dinner night activity at the church and around 20 investigators came. Family and friends of members. Really good outcome. More of them came then members at first. Good for them to just see the church and know that we are not a crazy church but good. So maybe in the future many many miracles will happen in this area.

One young man on Sunday brought his friend to church. Good to see members doing missionary work!

Brother Kang and Sister Lee are doing well. Their baptismal date got moved to June 7 because next week Sister Lee has to go to Seoul.

Had some other cool stuff happen this week but It is actually really confusing so I'll explain when I get home....:/

Anyhow I love missionary work!

Have a good week!

Hello,

So this week I went on exchanges with a missionary named Elder Lees. We are like best friends so it was a really fun exchange. We talked to a lot of people and learned a lot of things.

Our investigators, the mother and son, came to church again. We had planned to talk about the plan of salvation but they had questions about the Book of Mormon. Then we ended up talking about baptism. At first they did not see the need for baptism but after talking and our member talking with them as well they agreed to baptize! There date is set for the 31st of this month. Please pray for them! Brother Kang and Sister Lee.

Well I don't really know what else to tell you about...only 2 more weeks.

Well have a good week!

Hello,

I'll make a quick little email today even though I called.

So Tuesday we had our ward picnic. It was perfect weather! I got sun burn really bad....Anyhow our investigators (referrals) came to the picnic. They had a really good time, the mother and the son. We played sports a lot with the son and the young men in the ward.

They also came to church on Sunday for the first time. It seems like they liked it. Different from their other church but it went well! We taught the restoration during gospel principles class and the mother was very interested. She asked questions and shared her thoughts and they agreed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. The mother really liked the talks in sacrament meeting. One member talked about the temple and service, so the mother investigator is interested in what temples are all about. Next time;)

That's it!

Hello,
This week was good!

The one investigator that we have that is doing the English Program read the Book of Mormon assignment we gave him! He said he didn't have interest when we first started to meet but as we were talking during English time he started to talk about the Book of Mormon part he read! We got to talk about the Book of Mormon a little bit more and a little of the restoration. He seemed to be listening and we assigned him a chapter to read and he said he would read it! I think that the spirit is slowly opening his heart to the message of the gospel!

We were proselyting during some extra time we had and we walked past a phone store and said hello to the man standing outside. He said hello back so we struck up a conversation. Before it could go too far he invited us into his phone shop! We talked for a good 15 20 minutes. We got to talk about the Book of Mormon and he seemed a little interested. He said that he gets bored in his shop so he told us to stop by a lot so we can talk! True miracle!

We got a few opportunities to do service this week! We helped a member move a different member's treadmill to even a different member's house. The member who used to own the treadmill is moving so yesterday we went and helped clean the apartment he will be moving into. On Saturday we got to help clean the church a little!

No one came to English class because of the long holiday weekend (Children's day). But one of the young men in our ward brought his one friend to the church and we got to play some basketball with him and be his friend. He is not quite ready to be an investigator yet but maybe in a few weeks or something. It was good to see the young man doing missionary work. The young men here are really impressive sometimes. Every fast Sunday a few of them always get up and bear their testimony about something.

The one investigator that hasn't responded to our calls or texts still hasn't. But we saw him this morning on our way back home from exercising. I just don't think he really has interest in church as he said he did. We will see...

Well that was our week! Hope you have a good one!

Hello family!

This week as a verrry slow week. New companion, only Korean, my brain is about to explode. That plus spring allergies is killing me. My eye was swollen last week and then again this week because of the allergies I think. I have been taking medicine but it really hasn't helped much. No big deal though, it is actually not that bad.

So this week we did not meet with the one investigator that we wanted to talk about baptism with. He didn't answer our calls or texts and didn't come Sunday. He didn't go to the church on Friday to play baseball with our members (we went to hopefully meet him but he didn't show). He texted our member saying that he wouldn't go. I don't know why isn't answering us.

We met one of our less actives. Instead of speaking English we spoke in Korean. It was much different. I didn't really talk much 1. I didn't know what to say 2. He pretty much filled my companion in on everything he told me over the past 4 weeks -------He came to church again on Sunday for Sacrament meeting. It was good! We stayed with him and a member and talked for another 2.5 hours. Well I and my companion just listened to our member talk most of the time. The less active pitched in too.

Met a guy for the 2nd time. English program. He doesn't really have much interest in the gospel right now and he receives pressure if we talk gospel to him so we can't do that very much yet. We did give him a Book of Mormon, shortly introduced, and asked him to read it. We will see. We think that as we meet with him he'll trust us more and be more open to the listening to the gospel.

So our investigator and his mom (who is an investigator too) Came to English class this week! Our member who referred them brought them. We talked with them for a few minutes before and built trust. Apparently they stopped going to their church recently so they can make the transition to ours. They really like English class. That made me feel good since I try to teach well and fun. Anyhow our member says try to meet them at their house to teach the gospel. We will see if that works out this week.

Okay that is it for this week!
Have a good week!

Elder Frampton

Hello, family!

This week was pretty good. Made some cookies for a member’s birthday and dropped them outside their door. At nice apartment buildings there are locked keypad doors to get into the apartment. Since we wanted to leave the cookies secretly we asked the security guy to open the door....he said go to the door and call him on the intercom. We did that and waited, and waited for about 2 minutes...we were watching the door for it to open but we never saw it move. (It was a sliding door) so the security guy probably saw us and came over and told us how to call him on the intercom (I don't know why) but then he was like "the door is already open." Well little did we realize that the door was open already when we got there. We got distracted by the fact that we were waiting for movement rather than looking to see the position of the door, which was open...We felt really dumb. Anyhow the member liked our cookies!

We met the one less active again at his English academy. I was on exchanges with another elder and we met with Brother Kim. We had a really good lesson with him. The spirit was super strong as we taught to his needs rather than a lesson. He has lots of questions and challenges to overcome in his life right now. Although he has been less active for 20 years, he surprisingly remembered much of the doctrine! We were just reminding him and as he talked to us I think the spirit helped him solve a lot of his questions and helped him know what is right. We really didn't do much teaching, just listening and giving short words of truth and encouragement. He was unable to come to church this week for general conference sadly but he said that he will come next week.

As we met another less active that just has lots of concerns and doesn't really want to come to church I really didn't know what to say. I didn't know how to react and I was really trying to listen to the spirit for words to say but nothing came. I was confused because I really was expecting to receive words of comfort and help to say to her. What I felt though was just God's love for her. Just an overwhelming sense of peace that God still loves her no matter what the circumstances. I let her know what I was feeling and the surety that I knew it came from God. We prayed and left.

The investigator that came to church last week wouldn't answer our calls and only answered some of our texts. We couldn't meet him. He played baseball with a member this past week which was good but the member told us that the investigator said he was going to Japan....well the investigator texted us during church and said he was in Hiroshima , Japan for business...a little odd and sudden. Hopefully everything works out.

English class on Saturday was great. We had our usuals and because of conference at the church 2 sisters and one young man came to English class! It was great. They had a great time and said they would come again. It was really a much more fun class with them there.

Conference was good. Learned a lot about the importance scripture study and prayer plays in every aspect of our life. Surprised that President Monson didn't speak as much as he usually does. He must be pretty weak and tired.

Well Hope everyone has a good week!

Elder Frampton

Hello everybody!

So last week on P-day we went ice skating, I totally forgot to mention it in my email last week. We went as a zone and we went to the world's biggest department store. The store had a small ice rink in it. It was pretty fun. There were so many tiny kids there....weren't allowed to go fast or backwards or anything but it was still very fun!

On Monday night we decided to knock doors for 3 hours...we ended up in this little area, super dark, felt like we had gone back in time like 40 years. That's the kind of doors we were knocking on..No luck. We went back down this little tiny road above a house and my companion turned a corner and then a dog started barking and we turned and booked it back.  That is the closest to a good dog story that I have so far.

The last door of the night was a house. Houses in Korea are usually surrounded by a big fence and you have to ring in and they open the gate door. We ringed and they let us in....big surprise, we were caught off guard. We knocked on the door and the lady that answered was confused, she probably thought we were there kid coming home from school or something...so she said she was busy and sent us on our way. We were smart and left a plan of salvation pamphlet and testified about eternal families and then left. Not bad.

Tuesday we were waiting to go to our service project and were walking around for a while and met this 20 year old girl on the street that was fluent in English. She lived in South Africa for most of her life and could speak English, Korean, Afrikaans, and a little German too. The rest she was fluent in. She could do a bunch of English accents too, American, British, New Zealand, Australian. It was really surprising. Super weird experience though because her sister that was there was recording us the whole time on the phone. Just talked about church and school and stuff. Pretty much she remembered that she heard our church was a cult and we left.
Later that day we went to visit a less active member that we never had met. He was baptized like 1.5 years ago and I had only seen a picture of him before. Pretty much we found the house, which was a store, and saw the active wife. There was this old guy leaving when we were going into the store, little did we know that it was him...he looked different compared to the picture I saw.

Wednesday we met the investigator that is going into the military this week. It was good. Talked about the Book of Mormon and prayer. Felt the spirit the whole time while teaching so even though our Korean isn't the best I know that the spirit makes up for the rest.

Thursday morning was hard. Got up at 4:30 to go watch the sunrise...little did we know it didn't rise until 7:30....our branch was meeting at 6 for some reason. It was suppppper cold. First day I have worn my winter coat since 2013 December. It was great, we got our other investigator to come with us and we had a good time with him being really cold ;) Ate some delicious soup. Oh we went to this beach near our area and there were lots of people that went there actually. Sunrise was so beautiful! Prayed together as a branch and sang a hymn then watched the sunrise and left. Wasn't too tired the rest of the day.

Sunday was a good Sunday. Got one of the young men, well no longer a young man because of the New Year, to come with us to give the sacrament to the sister in the hospital that we visit every week. He also received the calling of young men's president yesterday as well since we didn't have one. Good experience.

Things have been going a lot better here I would say. Time actually moving kind of slow! Weird since usually it moves so fast!

That's it for this week! Don't forget to pray!

Hello everybody!

So I have news! Well I got transferred again, after only 6 weeks in Gyeongsan I am leaving!

I am back in Busan again in an area called GweJeong. So one of the subway lines in Busan is the orange line and when I served in Geumjeong I served on the one end, now Gwejeong is on the other end of that orange line. Quite the big feat there. It was sad to leave so soon from Gyeongsan but I look forward to serving here.

I think the thing I will miss the most is Brother Kim. He was doing so well. When I was talking with him on Sunday he said he has been doing good with smoking. Trying to keep to the schedule we made even though he got behind he was caught up apparently. Down to 8 a day. He said it is a miracle. He never really thought about smoking he said, it was always just natural. Now he said that he is very conscious of it. That when he smokes, he thinks 'okay how many did I smoke today, how many more can I smoke?' He recognizes this and considers it a miracle. When we met earlier in the week it was so miraculous. It is just a miracle. He said he prays 2 to 3 times a day just about smoking, and acknowledged that he knows he is weak but Heavenly Father has been strengthening him! He knows that Heavenly Father has made him more aware of when he smokes! He said he can see the blessings of the gospel in his life, when he didn't have it and now when he does. He thinks that if he was raised in the gospel that he could have become the prophet....I kind of just nicely laugh that one off because I don't really know how to answer that. He is sooooooo great! I will miss him and he was really sad that I was leaving! I also gave him this past week a list of 31 good scriptures that he can read...kind of a read one a day thing and think about it throughout the day so he can receive the strength of the Book of Mormon to help overcome his addiction. He is super great!!!

Yesterday our branch had 2 baptisms. Both sisters, one maybe 11, the other like 30s. Had the baptism in the neighboring areas church because our church doesn't have a baptismal font. It was really good, the missionaries in our district sang a musical number and I accompanied on the piano. I only messed up a little but it was okay, one of the papers fell off the piano so I elbowed whoever was behind me hoping they would understand that what I needed, they got the idea and picked the paper up for me. The service was really good though 2 really great sisters!

Not really much else happened this week really so that's about it. I look forward to serving in my new area!

Have a good one!

Hello!

So this past week was a pretty good week.

Last Tuesday, we took our investigator Brother Kim to family home evening in a members.  It was good. We just played a Korean traditional game and ate some delicious food. So brother Kim, because of the holiday was unable to keep to the schedule that we had made for him to quit smoking. We will work with him more closely to help him! So this week we taught about priesthood. When we taught that it was by the priesthood all the apostles in the scriptures performed miracles and that we had the priesthood too, he asked us to perform a miracle right there and then. To explain how it works we showed a Mormon message about a football kid getting struck by lightning and a new priesthood holder giving a blessing and that he turned out alright. Anyways media is such a good way to teach...luckily we had a computer in the church we could show it on. He also came to stake conference on Sunday and liked it. After there was a baptismal service that we took him too! It was a really good experience that we got really lucky with.

On Wednesday we got together with our missionary district and did a proselyting activity and a riverside park. Some people could play the ukulele and guitar so they played primary songs together and we talked to people. I talked to a lot of people, especially to old guys. I love talking to old guys. A lot easier than younger people...

On Friday Elder Aoyagi of the area presidency came to our Zone as part of mission tour. His wife gave her talk all in English, mainly just reading from her paper that maybe someone else translated to English for her. I don't know but it was fun, she said the purpose of her speaking was to keep us awake. She even had us do a little dance to put your shoulder to the wheel. So odd but so fun! For lunch they had some sandwiches that were egg sandwiches and jelly put together...sounds weird but super delicious!

Saturday's session of stake conference I tried translating to English for Elder Fairhurst, the elder of the couple that works with the military branch, the one that took us to go bowling. Anyways I didn't do a very good job. First of all it is super hard to understand Korean over loudspeaker because everything slurs together, two because they speak really fast/read really fast, three Korea is hard. But it was fun, he was only there to see how the translator (that would translate his talk the next day) how well he would do. That night the translator was translating President Barrows talk.

Today we are going to "E-world" an amusement park place, it should be fun!

That is it! Have a good week!

Hello,

Pretty good week again, pretty busy.

Our one investigator, Brother Kim, is doing well. Met him twice this week other than church. We taught about the Word of Wisdom and committed him to try and live it...he has a smoking problem so it will be hard. I followed up yesterday in church with him and he said that it is really hard but he has been praying for help. He said he has tried throwing away his packs of cigarettes and even breaking them in half but that causes way too much stress. He said he has cut down on like 1 or 2 a day though. We are going to help him make a plan this coming week when we meet so he can give up smoking.  He really wants to but an addiction is an addiction so it takes some strong will to give up, but I know he can do it. We had a meal appointment with the stake president (he is part of our branch) and we brought Brother Kim with us. It was really good. Delicious meal so he liked it. They talked a lot about just how the lessons are going and how he likes the church. If you ever have the missionaries over for a meal, encourage them to bring an investigator!

The guy that I talked about last week that called and came to English class, we met him 2 times this past week! We will continue to meet and teach him, has very little background. He called himself a fake Christian.

Today for Pday we are going to the military base to bowl and eat. The other area in our district has the military branch and members and also the senior missionary couple that pretty much works on the base. So the couple invited our district to go bowling today on the base so that is what we will do! I might get to eat some real American food!

Next week is the Korean holiday Chuseok! It is on pday so we won't get to do anything special on another day.

Yesterday I almost had to give a talk in church because they had asked before hand but when we got to sacrament meeting they told me I didn't have to anymore because someone from the stake came instead. I was pretty relieved.

We met some good potential people on the street this past week so hopefully this week we will be able to meet them.

Yea that is pretty much it for this week!

Elder Frampton

Hello,

Super good this week! Very busy again! A lot of things that happened.

So the biggest thing that happened was that in the neighboring area (part of our missionary district) held a luau at their church. They had been preparing for a long time, even before I came. Well they had us participate and help out, so when I came I had to learn 3 dances in two weeks. Anyways we helped prepare for that this week and practiced some more and then had it on Saturday. Over 100 people showed up! There were 10 acts, 2 ukulele acts, 1 hula act which I participated in, like 3 native American dances, 2 hip hop ones, a new Zealand dance using Boi, these balls attached to strings that we swing around, then like a clapping rhythm thingamabob which I also participated. One of the elders in the other area is from Australia but his dad is like a professional dancer and so he took a lot of lessons from him so one of the Native American dances was a sweet hoop dance. Can’t even describe it. By the end he had like 8 hoops and used them as wings of a bird.....it was cool!

This week we had 4 investigators that could potentially come to church but then none of them came! 2 of them later told us that they couldn't come because of either work or family event. The other 2 we haven't heard from yet. Well we met one, brother Kim Kyeong Hwan, guy that really loves our church. We met him Sunday but also earlier in the week on Wednesday as well. We invited him to read the Book of Mormon and pray and we would check up every other day. We found out on Wednesday that he liked the church but didn't really know if Heavenly Father existed or not. Well when we heard from him last he had prayed but hadn't read. Then when met on Sunday night and he had read! He said that he really loves the church and now the Book of Mormon. He really enjoyed reading it. He said that it taught him about Christ and he felt good while reading it. He even was like, while reading I definitely received inspiration. He says he that he feel God and Jesus Christ and the Spirit exist, he first thought as one person but then we helped him to understand that they are 3 separate beings. Also at first he thought it was inspiration but not necessarily an answer from God. We helped him to realize that is exactly how an answer comes! It was one of the greatest experiences ever! He just seemed so peaceful! and happy! He didn't accept the baptismal invitation we extended but he gladly accepted to pray about it in order to know whether that is when he should be baptized! He is super great.

So something unexpected happened when we were waiting at the church before English Class on Thursday. We were waiting and the phone in the clerk's office started ringing. It was someone who was going to come to English class! It was unexpected because we have no idea how they got that number. One of the only ways is to look at the little sign outside the church doors on the second floor. Our cell number is on it too so it is weird that his friend who gave the number had the number. We are super glad we answered it because he now became a new investigator! He is a tennis coach and travels a lot with his students and he is going to the states in a few months and needs to learn useful phrases and words so he can use them at hotels and stores and such! We set up with him to meet him 2 times a week! He seems pretty open to hearing the gospel and trying commitments! Very awesome

This week was rainy again. Probably at least a third of the time I have been here it has rained. We walk around little streams and puddles that form, sometimes big puddles... my shoes often get soaked! Very not fun. haha

Hope you have a good week!

Love,
Elder Frampton

Hello,

So this week was pretty quick since it was the first week in my new area. A little stressful actually. Just super busy but at the same time not really.

So we have 2 progressing investigators right now. Both around 60 years old.

The one is gospel interest and not an English program but he really likes English so he ends up asking many questions so it is pretty much an English program. He comes to church and super loves our church. He says it feels like a family here and he says he will get baptized....sometime. We tried to commit him to a date but he didn't really give a yes or no, kind of just said that he would..sometime. Yesterday at church he said that he wish he could have been in the church since he was a kid just because he thinks it is so good! He likes the classes and the doctrine and everything. He even took notes in church. He really likes learning. I am not sure if he is necessarily feeling the spirit or just the idea of the church and it's structure, but the fact that he likes it so much makes me think that it is all the spirit.

The other investigator we do an English program with. He is super nice and really just wants to find faith really. He kind of believes in God and Jesus Christ but is really wanting to know. He came to church the day before I came but didn't come this week for some reason. We will find out next time we meet. We meet him 2 times a week for the program and then he comes to English class 2 times a week as well.

On Friday, it was Korean Independence day so the branch had a branch activity. We went somewhere about an hour away and had like a picnic thing next to a little river. All the kids and some adults went in the little river, played with water guns, threw buckets of water at people (the water in the bucket, not the bucket itself). Good way to start the transfer getting to know the members. There are lots of kids in the branch so it is pretty fun to be with them too.

The weather here was supposed to be hotter than everywhere else but it was very cool this week. Didn't even really sweat while I was outside. Plus it rained like 3 days so far out of my week that I have been here so that was great.

The apartment is about the same size as my last one but it is a nicer layout. I have a good yo this time. There is one bed but it is my companions. I sleep on like 5 yo's though. It is great. I finally get comfortable sleep.

That is it for this week!

6-22-14

Hello,

So the new transfer started today! Nothing changing with me. Me and Elder Shaw are staying together for another one. The last transfer was only 5 weeks because Pres. Gilbert is leaving sometime at the end of the week and Pres. Barrow comes on Friday! So this new transfer will be 7 weeks to make up for the one short this past time. I'm writing so late today because we went to Busan for transfer meeting to see the Gilberts for the last time and the meeting was kind of long and after some waiting we finally got back to our area around 7:20ish. So we are emailing on display computers in the store so if the email stops suddenly it is because they tell us to get off......

So since I just realized   I never told anything about Elder Shaw because I hadn't known anything 5 weeks ago I will tell you some stuff now. He is 19 turning 20 next month, from Burley, Idaho. Went to BYU summer and fall of 2012 and has been out about 5 more months than me. He likes hardcore music. Pretty good at Korean and likes to work hard.

So this past week....a lot happened but nothing super great like the week before. I went on a companion exchange with Elder Barr our district leader and I went to his area. We met some interesting people that day. One of them was a little drunk and when we were walking by he called us over to talk to him because he had a question. He at first asked if there was a difference between God and Jehovah in the old testament....he talked about a lot of stuff and it pretty much ended in him telling Elder Barr to show his (Elder Barr) heart to him (the guy)....it was super weird and it wasn't making much sense...so Elder Barr kind of just stared forward and thought for a few seconds and this guy I guess had enough because he just got up and walked away. Super weird. We met a few other good people but that kind of didn't end too well either. Most people seem to hate religion now (especially Christians) because of the boat accident. I don't know how much you know now about it but the captain and company manager ran away right? And something about one of their religions preacher and that belief being the whole reason they like did what they did. Well because of that lots of people think that our religion is just like that and don't want anything to do with it. Also we hear a lot about us being a cult.....it's is kind of annoying because it just makes people not really listen to us when we talk. In a way they are hardening their heart but we still have the faith the when we talk to the people that their heart will have the even slightest softness to feeling the spirit.

We went and did 'construction' again this week. It was just actually just cleaning up stones and stuff and sweeping because they had just pored the cement a few days before and they have to wait for the cement to completely cure before they can do more building. Well it went well, our investigator is much more open to coming to church now. He says that for sure when he isn't working he will try and come out. He also says that he will bring his friend that we met that day with him. He says that his friend drinks a lot and puts drinking over his family so he thinks that we can help him through church and stuff, hopefully that works out!

I didn't get to meet our old investigator this week because of the exchange and because when they met him his wife told us to stop coming. We are just giving him a little time but we did take a message card by his house really quick on Friday. So keep him in your prayers please.

Well anyways that is it for this week actually! Read the Book of Mormon! It will bring a special spirit into your life that nothing else can! Act upon the things your read! I love you all! Look for people to serve this week, go out of your way to serve them!

Love,
Elder Frampton

5-19-14

5-12-14 was Mother's Day and we got to talk to Elder Frampton on the phone Saturday night.

Okay hello!

It was an exciting last week of the transfer! First things first, Elder Brown transferred and my new companion is Elder Shaw. I don't know anything really about him yet other than he is from Idaho. He has been out a year and like 4 or 5 months.

So Saturday morning.....interesting time. I started studying at 8:00 and when I got up to go to the bathroom I realized I had trouble opening my eyes. Next thing I know my eye lids are super swollen and I can barely open my eyes! I called Sister Gilbert in order to ask what I should do and since I had no Benadryl (she thought it might be and allergic reaction) she told me to go to the hospital. So I went to the hospital and pretty much the doctor said I was fine and that if it were to get worse my face would swell up and then it would be more serious...so he just gave me a prescription for some allergy medicine stuff for 2 days and he said it would make me tired. Interesting experience...The swelling went away around 1ish.

Also Saturday we had a branch activity! We, the missionaries, planned it all and we did an activity with a bunch of mini games and cakes. Pretty much you could win things to put on top of the cake by winning mini games. We bought the cake bases and made some cream icing to put on top, we forgot to put sugar in the cream when we whipped it so it wasn't very sweet so we went out and bought some that was already made and then put it over the other unsweetened cream. Mini games we did were chopstick-m&m race, telephone charades, something called Korean dodgeball, a food feeling game, a card flipping game, and a balloon popping game. It was super intense. About 6 members showed up and then we were able to get out one kid from our basketball activity and then 5 of his friends! They had a really good time

Yesterday at church one of our investigators came out! It was pretty much to see Elder Brown give a talk in sacrament meeting, but it was a really good experience he said. He is a 30 old teacher and the basketball activity we go to is with him and his students. He came to a branch activity 2 months ago and we had been trying to get him to come out to church again. He really likes the branch because it is like a family. We hope to be able to get him out to church more but he always has other plans on the weekends, but we hope since he has kind of broke the ice now by coming to church once then he will come again. He also does like formally hearing the lessons but maybe now it will be easier to meet him and teach him, maybe not so formally but we hope he will be more open to hear more. Also he had never accepted the Book of Mormon he was offered the two times Elder Brown tried to give it to him, but he finally accepted to take one yesterday. We are praying that he will be able to progress now.

So Wednesday we were on the bus going to district meeting an hour away. When we were five minutes from arriving to the bus terminal the bus totally rear ended a car in front of it! It was raining and I was sleeping but all of a sudden the bus starts jerking to come to a stop and as a result of the motion I wake up...then the next thing I know we just BOOM hit a car! The back of the car was totally smashed and the front of the bus was only a little dented in....dang! Luckily no one was hurt and another bus came 3 minutes later to take us away.

Well that’s it for this week! Have a good week!

Hello everyone~! So the big news for the week is that I did end up being transferred! I got transferred to a place called Sa Chon. It is the most west area in the mission and is apparently really country. I just arrived here after riding two buses for a total of 3 hours. I haven't seen much yet but I'll bet there is lots to see. My companion is Elder Brown. He hasn’t been out on his mission only two more months than me and has been in this area for 4 months already, he just finished training here. I don't know much about him yet but I will send some more things next week when I know.  The branch here has around like 15 members apparently. Tomorrow we are going to go help someone farm! Should be fun.

Nothing too exciting happened this past week! I did a lot of walking around.

On Saturday Roger came to our English class and then he took us out to dinner afterwards. Unfortunately during dinner he got a really bad headache so we couldn't teach him a lesson afterwards. Kind of disappointing but that is okay. He really like our English class and said that it was much better than he expected it to be. He said it was much better than the community English class he attends! Woot go missionaries! Haha what was good that we found out though was that he had read the gospel of Jesus Christ pamphlet we gave him as well as the plan of salvation one that he hadn't read before. Also he said he was reading from the Book of Mormon, not just that he read it but he is reading from it! I will miss him, I promised to call him from my new area every few days.

English class was really awesome on Saturday especially. We had Roger come and another new girl and 4 Vietnamese people. There were like 10 people in class that day! The one girl and 4 Vietnamese people we had met on Friday while doing a proselyting activity by Busan national university, so it was really cool to see them come. We think the Vietnamese people have potential to become investigators later, they are super nice, they know English pretty well and don't really know Korean.

The weather was super weird this week, it was hot in the beginning of the week then cooled down a lot at the end. Super weird.

Oh another thing was that we had an investigator at church! My last Sunday and it was one of the only times that happened. It was a guy we had met on Tuesday that said he wanted to us to teach him English and he wanted to check out church. So he actually came to church! We went and met him at the subway station and got late to church but luckily just in time for the sacrament. I probably won't really find out how a lot of those things turn out but I'm glad that I was able to leave with things getting moving in Geumjeong.

That's it for this week! Love, Elder Frampton

3-17-14

Hello!

So this week was a little less exciting than the week before. It rained for 2 or 3 days so it was really gloomy outside and not many people wanted to talk..

So last p-day was good, we played sports at the church most of the day for like 3 hours or so. We played catch with a football, soccer, basketball, pingpong, badminton. It was nice to play sports again after not playing for a while. Today we are going to play soccer on the beach again! The last time I did that was my second week serving in this area back in October. The beach is in another area and zone so it takes around 40 minutes to get there by subway. It should be fun because it is an amazing day, it is somewhat hot outside.

So this week also we ended up having a few appointments cancel that we had set up. They were referrals from other areas and people that we had found on the street. They said they were 'busy' and couldn't meet and would be 'busy' for the rest of the week. Usually when that happens that means they don't want to meet so that's too bad! One of the referrals from another area was busy, but we think his excuse was legitimate, so we will try again this week to set up an appointment.

So we met with our investigator again twice this week. We teach him in English because he doesn't really know Korean anymore. He is slowly progressing, we are continually trying to help him find faith in God and to find that he exists. He has a hard time accepting it because he has such a firm belief in science and just thinks that science explains it all. He kind of thinks that when we attribute good things and feelings to be from God, we are kind of just making excuses and being somewhat weak because we don't want to truly figure it out through science. He is really open though and he is willing to pray. We are constantly helping him know what to pray for and how he will receive an answer. He wants to believe but it is just a little hard, so right now we are just relying on him praying and receiving an answer and recognizing that it is from God. We only have 2 more weeks of meeting him so we really hope we can help him find for himself that God exists and loves him!

On the rainy days we spent a lot of time finding less actives through records and then going and trying to find them at their houses. There are so many and our records are out of date so sometimes I feel hopeless that we will ever find any! The ward has their 'focus' less actives but those are dead ends too or the sister missionaries are working with them already. We will continue to try to find them and invite them to church.

This week after sacrament meeting our 'investigator' came to church. He actually showed up to church randomly at the beginning of December when I was with Elder Moon. Last time he came to church we met with a member and the member and him instantly became friends. I had texted to Brother Lee and invited him to church on Saturday and when he came yesterday I was very happy! I was even more happy when I found out that his member friend had called him and invited out to church in the morning!! Woo!

We were able to meet during church and teach him a little. He likes to talk to we didn’t teach much. He is very open and wants a church and when we taught him prayer we invited him to pray to close the lesson and he said an awesome prayer! When we asked if he would pray every night, he said something like "for sure! I will pray from here on out everyday!" He is super sweet!

Now that the weather is starting to be warmer and more like spring I have a feeling my allergies are coming. Lately my eyes have been really dry and itchy so I started taking my allergy pills. I thought I had finally escaped my allergies! Wrong :( oh well, missionary work is getting fun and our area is getting much more exciting. All the missionaries in our area have investigators now and are seeing so many miracles! We are getting super excited. We are sad though because our ward mission leader has to enter his military service now (today actually) so we will be getting a new one :( He was super awesome. We don't know the new one yet so we will most likely find out on Sunday. We still have super awesome ward missionaries though! I also thought that that calling (ward missionary) was so lame, but it is super important and awesome! haha

That's it for this week!
Love,

Elder Frampton
