Hello,
This week was good!

The one investigator that we have that is doing the English Program read the Book of Mormon assignment we gave him! He said he didn't have interest when we first started to meet but as we were talking during English time he started to talk about the Book of Mormon part he read! We got to talk about the Book of Mormon a little bit more and a little of the restoration. He seemed to be listening and we assigned him a chapter to read and he said he would read it! I think that the spirit is slowly opening his heart to the message of the gospel!

We were proselyting during some extra time we had and we walked past a phone store and said hello to the man standing outside. He said hello back so we struck up a conversation. Before it could go too far he invited us into his phone shop! We talked for a good 15 20 minutes. We got to talk about the Book of Mormon and he seemed a little interested. He said that he gets bored in his shop so he told us to stop by a lot so we can talk! True miracle!

We got a few opportunities to do service this week! We helped a member move a different member's treadmill to even a different member's house. The member who used to own the treadmill is moving so yesterday we went and helped clean the apartment he will be moving into. On Saturday we got to help clean the church a little!

No one came to English class because of the long holiday weekend (Children's day). But one of the young men in our ward brought his one friend to the church and we got to play some basketball with him and be his friend. He is not quite ready to be an investigator yet but maybe in a few weeks or something. It was good to see the young man doing missionary work. The young men here are really impressive sometimes. Every fast Sunday a few of them always get up and bear their testimony about something.

The one investigator that hasn't responded to our calls or texts still hasn't. But we saw him this morning on our way back home from exercising. I just don't think he really has interest in church as he said he did. We will see...

Well that was our week! Hope you have a good one!

Hello familia,

So this week’s news is transfers. My last transfer and guess what? I have a Korean companion!  His name is Elder Lee. Doesn't speak English really so my Korean hopefully will get a lot better this last transfer and hopefully we can get a lot of good work done here. Also hopefully my brain won't explode from only Korean...

So there was the family that was a referral that I had told you about. Well we still aren't meeting them because the husband is still going through treatments and such. Well anyway they live in a faraway place in our area. We ended up going to that area this past week just to have a look around. Well we went and as we were walking, coincidentally we met the wife! She said that today she had just run to town to get pick up some stuff and what a coincidence it was that we met her. I consider that a big miracle because it was a last minute decision to go to that area.

Oh we had interviews with President this week and they were good. We did district meeting at the same time and tried some new stuff in district meeting that was fun and helpful.

Wednesday we met a guy for the first time. Appointment. I had met him a few weeks ago and he showed English interest. We had invited him to English class but he is busy during that time so we set something up during the week and were able to meet him. We explained our English program to him but he kind of felt a little pressure. He said he wants to do it though. So this week we are going to try and meet him again.

Met one of our members that owns a Taekwondo place and got to talk with her for a little and do a cartwheel with the kids there.

Went to visit a less active and we gave her a rock with Jesus Christ written on it. She absolutely loved it. I had gotten the idea from the April Liahona and felt we should give that to her. We don't know why she doesn't come to church because she has a huge testimony of the gospel. Since Elder Glover was leaving she invited us to her house for a meal the next day with her, her husband, and her son. We had a very good time with them eating delicious food. We sang a song for them. Elder Glover played his ukulele while I sang and I played my tin whistle as he sang. It was very fun and brought the spirit!

We met with one guy this week. Well he called us last Monday around 5 pm right before pday ended and he said he wanted to meet in 10 minutes. So we ended pday early to meet him. We read the book of Mormon with him because he was reading by himself but couldn't understand so we read and talked about it with him. He says he really wants to be a better person and follow the example of Jesus Christ. Next time I think we might be able to invite him to be baptized!

Sunday we had a fireside at the Stake Center. It was for investigators, recent converts, and less actives. The one guy I just spoke about came when the meeting ended..ate dinner there. He talked to other investigators and members and missionaries in the stake so even though he didn't attend the meeting it was a good opportunity. An English class member came which was good. Also our member that referred someone last transfer and we had only been able to meet him once brought the referral and also his mom. They both thought the meeting was really good and the member says we should contact them often. We probably will be able to teach the both of them later!

This week was great and I hope you have a good one too!

Hello,

So this week we made a board that says 'Free English' on it and our phone number. We are hoping it will help us find either new investigators or English class attendees. We haven't been able to use it yet because our phone isn't working......so a little back story. A few months ago the number we were using wasn't very reliable because it apparently would have on and off service. That was before I got here. So when they realized it had a problem they got a different phone and number but kept that old one. Then the first day I was here in this area they fixed the old number so we started using it again and just had the other number off. Then at the beginning of this week the APs asked us to send the other phone back by mail, so we sent it. That was Tuesday. The Korean AP was going to turn that phone service off since we didn't need it anymore. But because we were using both phones he didn't really know which one to turn off exactly and he canceled the service for the one we were using, not the one we sent....so that our phone turned off Friday dinner time. We didn't know until nighttime though so when we had to call and report that we were home, we had to go out and use a payphone...So then the next day the AP told us to come to mission headquarters and he gave us the phone that we had sent back so right now we have that phone again and are using it until he turns on our actual phone again. Confusing right?? yup, it's fun.

Because of that problem we were not able to meet with the one guy that likes English and not gospel. We showed up but he did not. He probably texted to confirm but when we didn't text back he just thought that we couldn't meet this week.

When we were going to district meeting on Thursday we saw this guy in the subway station playing Ping-Pong with himself. Just hitting the ball against the wall and returning it.

Sunday at church one of our member’s younger brother that lives in America was visiting on business. He brought two people he works with, one from America Tennessee/Virginia and one from Seoul. They two people the brother brought were both nonmembers and the one from America didn't speak a lick of Korean. He just came to Korea for car stuff, he is part of a small company that is doing some hydrogen thing for car engines that saves gas and stuff and stuff I really don't know anything about. Anyhow, I just talked to him at church for a little. Also the older brother that is our branch member brought his one friend to sacrament meeting. It was the guy that he brought to the picnic but they left after sacrament meeting. Hopefully he comes again and is willing to learn about the church and gospel. It is cool that one of our members is doing missionary work!

We had somewhat of a miracle. The branch president asked us to make a copy of a key and we were trying to find a place we can copy the key. It was Saturday almost time that we had to go home. We found one place that was open but he wasn't there so we called and he said to come back in one hour. We did then called him again because he wasn't there and he said that it would take one hour and then we didn't understand him over the phone. He was kind of rude. We then were rushing to try and find a place even if most were closed and we couldn't find one. I said a silent prayer earlier in my heart that we would be able to find one but we didn't. We got home and remembered that there were a bunch of keys in our house that we didn't know what they went to really, but then there was one that matched the key we were supposed to copy. I considered that a miracle. Kind of reminded me of the principle that God won't always answer your prayers in the way that you want.

That is it for this week! Have a good one!

I have almost no time to write this but I will share a quick experience I had this week!

This past week we visited a member and talked for a while, well Elder Moon did most of the talking. We were talking just about how the gospel can play such an important role in our lives. Its main purpose is happiness, that's it! Through it we can be happy. Well the member asked me to share my testimony. I know I didn't speak well but the spirit was just so strong and I know the member could feel it, she was just paying close attention and even though I couldn’t speak too well I know the spirit conveyed my thoughts and feelings. Your testimony with the spirit can work miracles!

That’s it, sorry times up.

Hello family,

So this week was a pretty productive week! We had talked to a lot of people on the streets. Met with a 2 people that are new investigators, one is a young guy maybe 18 or 19, catholic, pretty open minded. The other was a referral from another area. Pretty open too but the only reason we got him as a referral was because we are the missionaries closest to his place of work. He lives an hour subway ride away so we think we will talk to him about referring him to the missionaries down there because we think that he and his family will probably get taught together eventually. Especially because coming to church in Geumjeong wouldn’t be very reasonable when we invite him. This week was just full of miracles like that! The biggest one is that our investigator called his father and asked for permission to be baptized and received it! The baptism will probably be on the 23rd and he will get baptized the same time as one of the member’s 8 year olds sons! Exciting!

Also another miracle was that right before English class on Saturday we got a call from the bishop saying he was bringing 4 of his English academy students to the church to play ping-pong/teach them English. So me and Elder Moon friendship them and invited them to the Christmas party and got their numbers. That’s 4 potential investigators! Miracle!

One word of advice, if you see a miracle in your life, thank God! He will be more willing to give them and you will be able to see them! I owe those miracles to the application of that principle!

So I don't know why but I definitely expected it to be colder here! Some days it’s cold some days it’s not. But it’s definitely colder back in PA than here! Last Wednesday it snowed for about 3 minutes! It was so disappointing! ripoff! Especially since Seoul has been getting lots of snow! I love snow but I never get any!

We finally gave cookies to almost all members so I don’t have to make cookies everyday anymore! well I have to cook at least 12 everyday so we can take them to our investigator but I just make the dough once every few days then stick them in the oven when I need them. I pretty much make awesome cookies now;) just kidding but I bought chocolate and peanut butter to make peanut butter chocochip cookies! I buy little wrapped chocolates and spend like 3 minutes chopping them up. Quite tasty!

In our apartment we have 2 choices when we sleep at night.....be cold when we wake up in the morning, or toast in an oven at night and wake up burning hot in the morning.....the floor heater just cooks us when we have our beds down because all the heat just gets trapped there. We have decided to leave it off and be cold in the mornings for now until we can figure something else out.

That’s it for this week!
